Here’s a bit of Christmas and New Year joy.
One year ago, Martin didn’t know any English and he lived half way around the world. Since joining Redeemer, he has excelled at memorization and recitation. You have to see him reciting this poem and song. He does a beautiful job.
For context, the students at Redeemer are all required to recite a poem or piece of prose in front of their peers and teachers twice a year. This year, some of them recorded their recitations and we are going to share them with you through the rest of the Christmas season.
All Things Bright and Beautiful
BY CECIL FRANCES ALEXANDER
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all
Each little flower that opens
Each little bird that sings
He made their glowing colours
He made their tiny wings
The purple-headed mountain
The river running by
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky
The cold wind in the winter
The pleasant summer sun
The ripe fruits in the garden
He made them every one
The tall trees in the greenwood
The meadows for our play
The rushes by the water
To gather every day
He gave us eyes to see them
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty
Who has made all things well
Adorable, uplifting, and inspiring.
God is indeed at work at Redeemer Classical School — and, as evidenced here by Martin, in the hearts and minds of its students.
May God continue to bless your efforts, which are truly acts of love.
Yours in Christ, Dale Allen Steinke
