Redeemer Classical is hosting a fall mothers’ retreat focused on culture-building within ourselves and our communities.
The retreat will feature online workshops with the ladies of the Schole Sisters and their special guest, author, speaker, and mother of nine Cindy Rollins, plus in-person discussion with a treasury of local women. The retreat hosts and speakers are homeschooling, private-schooling, and public-schooling mothers, and mothers from families who have made all education choices are welcome. This is a mothers and nursing babies-only event.
“Rest assured,” the Schole Sisters write: “learning is not just one more thing for your to-do list. Learning is a meal for your mind and soul. Just as we must feed our bodies with good food and clear water, so we must also feed our minds and souls with knowledge so that we don’t end our active lives shriveled, shrunken, and flabby on the inside.”
Featured speaker Rollins is the 2016 winner of the Circe Institute‘s Russell Kirk Paideia Prize and the author of “Mere Motherhood: Morning Time, Nursey Rhymes, and My Journey Toward Sanctification.” A copy owned by the event host will be available at the event for perusal. So will a selection of recommended mother culture books for keeping the momentum going after the retreat.
Mother culture is the pursuit of lifelong intellectual and moral development to better serve in our vocations as wives, mothers, and Christians. Come join this soul-refreshing mother’s day out where we discuss the habits, strategies, and mentalities that help make that happen, and nourish relationships with a community of supportive women.
