On this last Friday’s nature walk, amid perfect fall weather a gaggle of children collected ants in the school yard and poured them into new homes, where we’ll spend the next several weeks watching them tunnel.

Notice that we’re using our brand new outdoor classroom benches as tables for this project. Thank you again, playground givers and makers!
The children wait pretty patiently for their turn at the two dirt buckets — sand and soil — to fill their ant farms with building materials.
